Hi, I’m Catherine.
After graduating from St. John High School, I left home in Perth to attend Queen’s University, where I earned my degree with Honours in Political Science before pursuing additional studies at the University of Toronto in Public Relations.
I have since built a career spanning public service, corporate leadership, business development and government innovation. I’m passionate about contributing a next-generation voice to leadership, bringing fresh perspectives together with practical experience.
My career began on Parliament Hill and government departments in the public sector. A key component of all the roles I’ve held is that, right from the beginning, I’ve worked directly with legislators, senior officials and government decision-makers at the federal, provincial and municipal levels across the country.
After I transitioned to the private sector, I became the youngest member of a national leadership team at a Big Four consulting firm at 28-years-old. In that role, I managed a cross-Canada team pursuing work with government and was selected by my firm for continent-wide corporate leadership development as a progressive, young leader. I co-founded an international mentorship program supporting the career development of young professionals in the Philippines and India.
Today, I am a Director of Business Development leading public-private collaborations that deliver critical services to citizens across the country. Having worked in nearly every province in Canada, I have driven some of the country’s largest, most innovative government procurement and business development initiatives of the last decade.
I have shared my insight as a speaker at public sector innovation summits on emerging and future-facing issues for government.
I have also served as a board director for multiple organizations and chaired board governance initiatives, bringing experience in oversight, accountability and responsible decision-making. I have been an advocate for local healthcare needs and earned my Rural Advocacy Certificate through the Rural Ontario Institute.
My career has positioned me as a connector between the public and private spheres—bringing together government, business and community perspectives to build partnerships and turn complex ideas into action.
Outside of work, I am a small business owner and historic house restoration professional, a supporter of the local archives and heritage tradespeople, and a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women.
My husband, Andrew, and I got married this summer in Perth surrounded by our family and friends at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.
I love gardening, rarely turn down a good spin class, and I remain optimistic that my golf game will eventually catch up with my enthusiasm for it.
Every Sunday, I prioritize family dinner, which includes stories and weekly updates from four generations— my grandma, parents, siblings and their spouses and my little nephews, Mac and Harper.
